Lights On Afterschool is the only national celebration of afterschool programs and the important role they have among children, families, and communities. Every year, thousands of Lights On Afterschool events are held across the country to raise awareness of the role that afterschool programs play in keeping kids safe, as well as highlight the need for increased investments in afterschool for the millions of children who don’t have access to high-quality programs. Every year, Lights On Afterschool provides an opportunity to showcase the importance of afterschool programs and make them a priority for Governor Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
