To see if your program is required to register as School-Age Child Care (SACC) with the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Information on the SACC regulations and registration process can be found on the OCFS website. To find out if you need to be registered or more about the regulations, click here, and also check the OCFS website.
Please note that all questions regarding SACC regulations and registration should be addressed to your OCFS Regional Office.
Changes such as remote learning, virtual learning or a hybrid model lead to situations that have never been contemplated, and child care providers are being called upon to serve children and families in new ways, including caring for children during remote learning time.
The purpose of this policy statement is to provide guidance on whether a remote learning configuration is exempt from New York State Office of Children and Family Services child care licensure or registration. Remote learning means remote, virtual, or online schoolwork or instruction while in a child care setting.
