While a growing number of school districts across the country are adapting and scaling the strategy, there are still leaders, practitioners, and partners who have questions about what it means to be a community school and how to get started. This session, led by the National Center for Community Schools, will introduce the foundational elements of the community school strategy and how it can work for your school community.

Note: This activity occurs during the same time as the Site Visits. Participants should not register for both.

During the Site Visit, participants will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, the community room, talk with staff, observe team meetings, and learn in depth about the practices and programs that are helping students achieve here in Schenectady. There will be an opportunity to speak with some lead partners that provide services and supports to students in our 4 identified Community Schools.
