LGBTQIA 101: Understanding Gender and Attraction

Supporting the Needs of LGBTQIA Children & Teens

Research shows that having just ONE supportive adult can reduce suicidality for LGBTQ youth. This session provides insight into their psycho-social-emotional needs with the aim of assisting staff in creating affirming environments and improving mental health. Plus, attendees will learn their legal obligations when working with LGBTQIA youth, especially those with unsupportive homes.   Prerequisite: LGBTQIA 101.
