Tentative 2027 Schedule (Subject to Change)

Empower Youth Success 2027 is a three-day event featuring several components as one of the largest training and networking gatherings for community schools, afterschool and expanded learning program providers in the state.

Site Visits (Add-on)

There will be two Albany site visit locations. This is an optional add-on purchase and may be purchased separately from a conference ticket. Participants will be bussed from the hotel to the site visit location and then return to the hotel. This is a great opportunity to see a Community School and/or Afterschool program in action. The site visits will take place Monday afternoon.

Lighting the Way Dinner: Celebrating the People Empowering Youth Success (Add-on)

This is an optional add-on purchase and may be purchased separately from a conference ticket. Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the people who are making a difference in the lives of young people. The Lighting the Way Dinner brings together community leaders, supporters, and champions of youth success for an evening of recognition, connection, and fun. Enjoy our Awards Ceremony, meaningful networking opportunities, great company, and an evening dedicated to celebrating those who help young people thrive. The dinner will take place Tuesday evening.

Community Schools

Community Schools are schools where educators, local community members, families, and students work together to strengthen conditions for student learning and healthy development using the community schools strategy. There are two session track options on Tuesday and a curated track on Wednesday that provide training to new and established community schools with emphasis on the Essentials for Community School Transformation Framework. Community Schools conference is a two-day ticket for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Afterschool, Summer, Expanded Learning

Join for professional development training with session tracks on Leadership, Program Quality, Hands On, Physical Activities/Movement, Behavioral Health, and Executive Director track. This conference is a one-day ticket for Tuesday.

New York State Learning and Enrichment After-school Program Supports (LEAPS)

The LEAPS initiative supports community-based after-school programs that:

1. Provide academic support and enrichment opportunities that will assist students in meeting academic and personal goals, as well as expose youth to future learning and life opportunities.
2. Prioritize students’ social-emotional wellness and increase opportunities to mitigate the impacts from COVID-19, as well as expand students’ access to social and emotional support services.
3. Expand students’ community and family engagement and programs that support mentorship, employment, and life skills training.

New York State Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time (BOOST)

BOOST programs offer Positive Youth Development (PYD) that is culturally responsive and focus on community engagement, leadership, and emotional support for youth, primarily ages 13–21, residing in public, high-need school districts.

The LEAPS & BOOST conference is a one-day ticket for Wednesday and provides training sessions selected and designed by the School-Age Technical Assistance Resource Center (SATARC) to support staff of grant award winners. Wednesday conference attendance is a requirement of their grantee guidelines. Participants may purchase a Tuesday ticket for additional learning.

◆ Lunch is included on Tuesday and Wednesday. All other meals are not provided.
