GREATER ROCHESTER AFTER-SCHOOL ALLIANCE

Mission

To strengthen the quality, quantity, and accessibility of out-of school time programs in Monroe County for school-age youth through community collaboration.

About GRASA

Greater Rochester After-School Alliance (GRASA) is convened by Rochester Area Community Foundation to execute a community strategy to meet the needs of working parents and engage young people in interesting, meaningful activities GRASA believes that all youth and families should have access to quality out-of-school time programs. As a consortium of youth development advocates, GRASA is committed to improving the academic, social, and emotional competencies for youth and the adults who work with them. Areas represented include Monroe County.

The initiative serves as:

  • a central point for information on needs and strengths of out-of-school programs;
  • a community-wide priority setting body on issues relating to out-of-school programs; and
  • a focus for coordinating responses to state and national requests for proposals.

For more information on the history, leadership, and activities of GRASA, view the GRASA website. GRASA meets on the third Friday of every month. If you are seeking additional information, or would like to join the GRASA mailing list, please contact Carla Stough Huffman.
