Power of 3:00 Afterschool Story Campaign

About the Campaign
As we approach the upcoming state legislative session, the New York State Network for Youth Success
will be collecting stories from afterschool staff, students, parents, principals/teachers, and others to
share with New York State legislators. Stories will be shared during our postcard campaign from
January through March, during which we will be flooding the offices of legislators with real life stories
of what afterschool programs mean to students, parents, staff, and the community. These stories are
key to educating our legislators about the importance of supporting the programs offered throughout
the state. If you would like to participate, please follow the directions below.

How to Participate
Submit Your Stories
Print the included forms OR share this link (networkforyouthsuccess.org/afterschoolstories) and ask
your staff, students, parents, principals/teachers, and/or others to complete them. For printed forms,
you can submit them to us in three ways:

  1. Mail the handwritten stories to:
    Network for Youth Success
415 River St. Troy, NY 12180
  2. Scan and email stories to chris@networkforyouthsuccess.org
  3. Transcribe the stories into the online form and submit electronically at
    networkforyouthsuccess.org/afterschoolstories

Submit Your Pictures
Please also consider sending a picture or two along with the stories that will then be used on the
postcards shared with the state legislature. Please be sure that anyone pictured in the photos has a
photo release, as these will be shared broadly. Photos can be emailed to
chris@networkforyouthsuccess.org or submitted electronically at
networkforyouthsuccess.org/afterschoolstories.

Deadline – Rolling
While we don’t have a hard deadline, we do need to begin collecting stories to share with legislators
beginning in early January. The earlier you can send these in, the better.
