156 Organizations Sign On in Support of $35 million Empire State After-School Program
In light of recent news at the Federal level regarding the President’s proposal to eliminate funding for the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program, New York’s largest funding source for afterschool and summer programs in our state, it is now more important than ever that New York increase state investments in high-quality afterschool programs.
To stress the importance of increased investments in high-quality afterschool programs, 156 organizations from across the state, including the New York State United Teachers, Police Conference of New York, The Alliance of New York State YMCA’s, school district Superintendents, and many others, signed on in support of investing $35 million in the Empire State After-School Program.
