Description

The Million Girls Moonshot wants to engage one million girls in engineering practices. Engineering practices can include engineering design projects, coding and programming projects, or other projects that involve the ten practices for an engineering mindset.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do, we want to help. The Network for Youth Success will award ten (10) up to $1,000.00 grants to programs who need support in order to engage girls and young women in engineering practices. Mini-grants are meant to primarily serve girls, but can also serve other youth. Programs that serve youth, including girls, can apply.

Budget Requirements
Funding use is at the discretion of programs. It can be used to purchase supplies, kits, curricula, technology, books, etc. and/or consumables like paper, batteries, glue, etc. It can also be used to cover field trip expenses, staff time, printing costs, and other expenses. Applications that can connect the use of funds to engaging girls in engineering practices, either directly or indirectly, will be given preference. Engineering practices can include engineering design projects, coding and programming projects, or other projects that involve the ten practices for an engineering mindset. Funds must be used by March 31, 2024.

Budget Proposal

(general categories of expenses and estimates of each)

You will be asked to provide a list of what you intend to spend the funds on, up to $1,000.00. Funded programs will be asked to provide additional basic information about the students served, as well as a brief final report about how the funds were used. This will include the total number of children/youth served, as well as demographic information about the youth (gender, ethnicity, family income). Testimonials, videos, and photos are welcomed and appreciated in these reports.
