Accessibility is a buzzword, but what does it mean when you’re working with youth? This interactive session will provide an introduction to what accessibility is and why it matters in your programs and organizations. Participants will practice skills such as using inclusive language, combating microaggressions and more. No matter their role in their organization, participants will leave with strategies for how they can bring accessibility in all of their work. Attending this session is a prerequisite to attending other sessions from this facilitation team.

Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week is an important time to celebrate and thank those who work with young people during out-of-school hours—but let's keep it going!![]()
🌟 Recognition is powerful, but real change comes through advocacy. 🌟![]()
💡 What can we do beyond this week?
✔ Support job quality—Afterschool professionals deserve fair wages, professional development, and workplace support.
✔ Advocate for funding—High-quality programs require strong investment in the workforce.
✔ Keep showing appreciation—A simple “thank you” or word of encouragement can make a huge difference.![]()
Afterschool professionals are the heart of afterschool. Let’s make sure they feel valued—not just this week, but all year long.![]()
