DESCRIPTION:Adults in youth programs and education settings have a unique opportunity to provide\nprogramming and materials that allow youth to see themselves and their families\nrepresented. When we do this\, we also prepare youth for interacting with the world around\nthem and help them build skills to be better friends and bystanders. This session introduces\nthe “Mirrors & Windows” learning theory (coined by educator Emily Styles in 1988) and\nprovides examples for improvements to curriculum and programming.
