SUMMARY:Regulatory Training Series
DESCRIPTION:The Network for Youth Success is here to meet your needs for regulatory training! In this NEW workshop series\, participants who attend all 5 sessions will receive 15 OCFS approved training hours that covers nine OCFS training areas for school-age care. This series is designed for front-line staff who need to obtain the 15 hours of regulatory training but any staff working in school-age care is welcome to attend.\n\nSessions are virtual and will be held over Zoom from 10 AM to 1:15 PM.\n\nThe cost is $300 per person. Registration is limited\, click here to save your spot.\nDetails on the five sessions follow below.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning Centers and Activities for School Age Programs\nTuesday\, January 17\, 2023\n\nThis virtual training will explore schedules\, indoor environments\, and learning centers in after-school programs. Participants will review schedules\, share how their environments are set up\, the learning centers they offer\, and the after-school activities and materials they offer within those centers. Participants will network with each other and discuss developmentally appropriate ways to expand and enrich these offerings to meet the needs of all after-school children in their care.\nPresenter: Arlene Rider Ph.D.\nOCFS areas 1\,3\n\n\n\nKeeping Children Safe & Protected\nTuesday\, January 24\, 2023\n\nThrough this training we will discuss child abuse and maltreatment prevention and identification strategies. We will also identify OCFS statues and regulations that pertain.\n\nPresenter: Dallas Garven\nOCFS areas 4\, 6\, 7\, 8\n\n\n\nACEs\, Trauma\, and Resilience\nTuesday\, January 31\, 2023\n\nIn this training\, participants will learn about ACEs\, signs and symptoms of trauma\, along with protective childhood experiences (PCEs). Participants will also learn ways to support the resilience of their students\, by modifying their environment and/or practice to support children in their after-school programs.\n\nPresenter: Rebecca Stahl\nOCFS area 10\n\n\n\nSupporting Good Health and Nutrition\nTuesday\, February 7\, 2023\n\nIn this workshop\, childcare workers will review state regulations that address health and nutrition. Childcare workers will explore ways to encourage children to adopt good health and nutritional habits. They will also discuss ways to provide support to families about children’s health and nutritional habits.\n\nPresenter: Diane Shirley\nOCFS areas 2\, 7\n\n\n\nDocumentation for Success\nTuesday\, February 14\, 2023\n\nParticipants will explore the multitude of business records that programs must maintain for compliance and success. Particular focus will be on child safety and supervision.\n\nPresenter: Natalie Scavone\nOCFS area 5\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe cost is $300 per person.
