Afterschool Summits

2017

In November 2017, the Network hosted the Power of 3:00 Summit, Summer Programs Change Lives to highlight the impacts of summer learning loss and the work of summer programs across the state addressing the issue. Prior to this, the Network (then NYSAN) hosted two statewide summits on the impact of afterschool programs across New York in 2014.

Earlier that year in January 2017, the Network held our Power of 3:00 Summit to launch the Power of 3:00 Campaign and celebrate the important role expanded learning programs play in keeping kids safe and supporting their academic and social development outside of the school day.

2014

In January in Albany, Inspiring, Preparing, Supporting: A Summit on Afterschool, Summer, and Expanded Learning Opportunities for New York’s Students invited statewide leaders to discuss the need for afterschool programs and opportunities to expand them across New York.

In May in Buffalo, Developing Students, Engaging Communities: A Summit on Local Leadership for Afterschool, Summer, and Expanded Learning Opportunities explored the role of afterschool programs in local collective impact initiatives and highlighted commitments to afterschool expansion across the state.
